2008-09-15 - CN Update
- While CN is not directly affected, other railroads in the Chicago area have recently undergone flooding conditions, impacting our ability to interchange traffic. As a result, interchange traffic with our connecting carriers in the area is currently backlogged. We are actively working with the other carriers to schedule detours wherever possible in order to minimize the impact to customer operations.
- Most areas served by CN along the U.S. Gulf Coast have now returned to normal operations. Portions of the McComb subdivision near lake Pontchartrain remain inaccessible due to recent damage. As a result, service to and from New Orleans is operating via the Baton Rouge subdivision. According to current estimates, the track will be passable on Sunday, Sept. 21st.
Customers concerned about their shipments scheduled to move through the affected region are encouraged to contact their Customer Service Representative for the most accurate, timely information.
