2008-05-07 - CN Update

Effective immediately UP has notified the AAR that they are embargoing all intermodal traffic destined for delivery into either UP's Lathrop or Oakland, CA Intermodal facilities. This action includes freight originating at UP terminals or moving interline from connecting roads and destined to Oakland or Lathrop. UP has initiated this action in response to severe congestion resulting from a dray carrier/driver work stoppage.

As a result of this embargo, CN will not accept any traffic billed to UP Oakland or UP Lathrop at any of its intermodal terminals.

This embargo shall remain in effect as long as the dray carrier/driver work stoppage remains in effect. Upon cessation of the work stoppage UP will cancel this embargo and issue a notice. We will provide an update as conditions change.
